I want to speak to the Videographer community here. Let me share a few things we've learned through mistakes. Don't use cords with adapters. Have your cords made the way you need them. MARKERTEK is a good company for this. Always have more battery than you'll need. Always! BESCOR's business is batterys. Use NRG's VARILIGHT. You can turn it up or down, and thereby only offend those people you want to. Use Ac-cetera's Flex Eze as your microphone stand. It's 2 clamps with a 12" flexible piece in between. Just piggyback the church's stand. Clean, neat, light. Always monitor audio during the wedding. Koss for the commoners, Sennheiser for you rich folks. I edit the 2 camera wedding with "cuts only" editing. Since we master in S-VHS, JVC makes my editor of choice. If possible, use a Time Base Corrector for making copys. I like the Panasonic AG series VCR's for VHS duplication. Look at it this way. Why bust your back making the tape of a lifetime just to blow it with a cheap snowy picture. Good equipment, backup equipment, knowledge of equipment. You deserve the benefits of our experience. |
